About Me - Kris Asselin
I started querying agents in 2010. Over the course of three years, I sent over 150 query letters. In ten years, I've had four agents as a result of changing career goals and industry ebbs and flows.
In 2013, my young adult novel, ANY WAY YOU SLICE IT, came out in April 2015 with Bloomsbury Spark. My debut Middle Grade (co-authored with Jen Malone) was published in February 2018 by Simon and Schuster/Aladdin. For more information about my books and author visits for schools and libraries, please visit my author website at www.kristineasselin.com. My last round of queries received over 50% request rate, and gave me three agent offers. Let my experience with querying help you get off on the right foot. As a "query expert," I've presented workshops for Romance Writers of America (RWA - New England Region), New England SCBWI (Society of Children's Book Writers and Illustrators), New Jersey SCBWI, The Writers Loft in Sherborn, MA, Mount Wachusett Community College in Gardner, MA, and Hollihock Writers Conference. |
Who I am
|
I write both
fiction and nonfiction for children and teens. I am the author of more
than fifteen children’s books for the elementary school library market
and my debut YA novel ANY WAY YOU SLICE IT (Bloomsbury Spark) came out
in April 2015. I volunteer with the Girl Scouts of Eastern
Massachusetts, and I love Harry Potter, Doctor Who, classic rock from the
70’s and 80’s, and anything with a time travel theme.
I love doing workshops and talking about reading and writing with both kids and adults. Learn more about my books and my workshops at www.kristineasselin.com. I live in a suburb of Boston, Massachusetts with my husband and daughter. |
